Working 5 days for OCBC (Part-Time)
[ Happy Savings Draw ]

2 days down, 3 days more to go.
11am to 7 pm (thursday - monday)
Standing beside the board full of (written) post-it notes,
giving out orange jellies and OCBC post-it note

Observing people's behaviour, meeting different type of customers,
got lots of queries regarding OCBC services,
had no idea how to answer them (as i am not a staff there),
forever have to refer them to the staff ambassador. haha..

Anyway, my job was to ask people:

" If you happen to win $250,000, how will you use this sum of money?"
They are to write it down on the post it note and stick it onto the board.

Recieved some interesting answer like
"$250,000 is too little for me, i cant do anything with that sum of $.
Can't buy a Merc car, can't buy a flat. I am talking about billions of dollars here."

I was surprised initially, cause i approached him when he was waiting for the manager to attend to him.
HAHAHAha.. dumb i know, but it's interesting to hear from him that he is working in the property line,
and some real life story of some woman out there working in the same industry and earning big bucks.
Telling me that property is a good prospect for a stable career. haa..

Anyway, he's not the only one telling me that $250,000 is too little,
there are about 3 more people saying that. Little to some people yes,
but to people like me, just imagine i win this amount.
I could use $50,000 to pay for my course fees, about $10,000 for expenses abroad,
and the remaining sum i can give my parents to invest in something worthy. If only.. hahha..

There are surprisingly quite a number of people who will donate all/part of the sum to charity
(which i doubt so if they really recieved it). Not being mean, but i just feel that when it happens,
thoughts may change, and that they will put it somewhere more useful to them.
Like travelling? Insurance? Renovating of house? etc

Here are some of the special messages i can remember:

"To give my sister a chance to study, as she is a smart girl, but we are too poor to afford the education."

"Donate half to the animal adoption centre, and adopt a few animals, as i can't live without them"

"Buy a Bali house with a beautiful sea view for my parents when they retire"

"To buy a condo for my son"

"To help pay off my parent's mortgage loans"

"Give part of it to my son as he is not earning much, and the other for my retirement savings."

"Provide for my children's education in abroad"

How nice :)

Though it's nice hearing all these from the public, but having to stand 8 hours really tires me out.
Just can't wait for Monday to come..

I need some foot massage please!

love,

Sharlyn woong :)
